Hi, I’m Jason, owner of Allen Electrical. I’m your local domestic electrician covering Surrey, Middlesex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, West, North West and South West London.

I started my own electrical business in 2009 and I provide domestic electrical services in my hometown and local area with the help of my apprentice, Josh.

I believe it is essential that electrical work in your home is carried out by a competent person who prides themselves on doing the job properly and takes their training and certifications seriously to keep you and your family safe.

This is why I am a registered NICEIC Domestic Installer.

What does this mean for you?

As a NICEIC Domestic Installer, not only am I able to provide certificates for the electrical work I carry out but can self-certify that my work complies with Part P of the Building Regulations. I am also regularly assessed to ensure that the high standards are continuing to be met.

This assessment ensures my work is to the highest standard and you can be confident your home electrics are safe. The assessment includes:

  • At least two site visits to demonstrate the quality of workmanship to the assessor.  The electrician must also demonstrate how to carry out the tests required to prove compliance with BS7671.
  • An audit of the business' health and safety policy, complaints procedure and records and public liability insurance certificates.
  • A review of copies of certificates issued since the last assessment including the recording of notifable works to local area building control.
  • A review of test instruments and calibration records.

Our compliance with building regulations

With a few exceptions, you need to notify your local area building controller of any electrical work done in your home. You can do this yourself by notifying building control of your intention to carry out electrical work in the home, paying them a fee, notifying them on completion of the works, getting one or more inspections carried out by the building controller and handing over a schedule of test results.

Or, you could use a NICEIC Domestic Installer like me who can notify your local building regulator for you once the work is complete.

In addition, we comply with the latest building regulations, not only Part P which specifically refers to electrical installations but also many of the other parts that affect electrical installations including:

  • Part A - Structural Safety
  • Part B - Fire Safety
  • Part F - Ventilation
  • Part L - Conservation of fuel and power
  • Part M - Access and use of buildings

We are fully qualified and insured and all relevant work is fully certified and comes with a six year NICEIC backed warranty.
